Video Production Internship - American Junior Golf Association (Braselton, GA)

The Video Production Intern contributes to marketing efforts of the American Junior Golf Association through video initiatives and manages all aspects of video production, from creative development to delivery of finished product, including pre-production, interviewing, filming and editing.

Responsibilities

·         Production of human-interest and feature stories

·         Production of highlight reels

·         Production of instructional and training videos

·         Shoot quality video footage of golf tournaments, including action, b-roll and interviews

·         Production of AJGA-branded videos for use on social media or for sponsors/events

·         Build and maintain video archives

·         Produce GIFs and short videos for social media

·         Assist with maintenance of all equipment for video, camera, lighting, audio

Qualifications Required

·         A thorough knowledge of film production as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or Film Production

·         Camera operation and expertise with sound and lighting equipment

·         Video and audio editing

·         Video compression for Web delivery

·         HD video delivery for large screens

·         Video archiving and organizing

·         Software:  Adobe Premiere

·         Ability to tell a story through video

·         Ability to execute in fast-paced environment with high volume

·         Creative, innovative, problem-solver

·         Must meet deadlines while managing multiple projects

·         Attention to detail

·         Collaborative

Preferred Qualifications

·         1-2 years related experience through internships or full-time employment

·         Some proficiency with additional post-production software (After Effects, Motion, DVD Studio Pro, etc.)

·         Graphic design abilities desired (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)

·         Multimedia experience desired (PowerPoint, Flash, etc.)

·         Copywriting ability desired

·         Golf knowledge desired

JOB DETAILS

  • This position is located at our headquarters in Braselton, Georgia.
  • Employees are expected to work Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (40 hours a week) when in office. The job will require travel up to four to five days on average in the spring and/or summer (depending tournament need).
  • Position could vary from January – March/March – May/May – August/September.
  • Compensation is $10 per hour or based on a percentage of travel stipend $250/week with all-expenses paid only when traveling.
  • The AJGA does not provide housing, food and travel costs.

Operations Intern - American Junior Golf Association (Braselton, GA)

The AJGA is looking for talented and well-rounded applicants to serve as operations interns. Interns will travel extensively throughout the United States during the internship to help conduct national junior golf tournaments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • On-course rules officiating
  • General tournament set-up and preparation
  • Golf course set-up and preparation
  • Start and score players
  • Monitor equipment inventory, maintenance and replenishment
  • Public speaking
  • Customer Service
  • Operation and maintenance of company vehicles
  • Working with golf course staff, sponsors, stakeholders and volunteers
  • Maintain and work within a tournament budget

Job Qualifications:

  • Golf knowledge is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Experience in event management/operations is preferred
  • Past experience in a team environment
  • Efficiency, multi-tasking and time management
  • Ability to work and communicate in a team atmosphere
  • Highly motivated and self-starter
  • Willingness to take an active leadership role
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills (Microsoft Office)

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old prior to the start of the internship
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license for a minimum of three years
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Must either be working towards or achieved a Bachelor's Degree
  • Work outside in extreme weather and temperatures
  • Work in direct sun exposure
  • Drive and operate company vehicles and travel via plane
  • Drive and operate a golf cart
  • Use and operate company equipment, i.e. radios / walkie-talkies
  • Ability to spot golf balls on the course
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Lift equipment up to approximately 50 pounds

Details and Application:

  • Spring and Summer Season (mid-March – mid-May/ mid-May – August/Labor Day)
  • The AJGA will pay a $250 per week stipend for the spring and a $275 per week stipend for the summer.
  • All tournament-related expenses (lodging, food, gas and laundry) will be paid by the AJGA
  • In limited instances a week off could happen for a team. In this case all travel, food and lodging will be on each individual if they determine to go home or stay in the city in which they are located. In this case, time off is unpaid.
  • Travel to and from Atlanta prior to and after the internship will be on a stipend basis.
  • Each intern will be provided with clothing, shoes and sunglasses

Deadline Dates:

  • Spring Deadline: November 7, 2017
  • Summer Deadline: January 10, 2018

Communications Traveling Intern - American Junior Golf Association (Braselton, GA)
